At Glastonbury 2010, the Greenpeace field’s campaign was forests, so we decided to create a tangled space inspired by the giant creeping vines and root systems of tropical jungles. Made out of strands of welsh bamboo lashed together with sisal, the curved structures were surprisingly strong. Giant nets provided seating in the shade for people waiting for the solar powered showers. At night the grove was alive with magical glowing flowers who’s colours changed with the sounds of the rainforest that were coming out from hidden speakers in the foliage.
